A foreign ambassador asked a prosecutor 15 days ago to arrest the entire leadership of Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) semi-autonomous entity, said RS President Milorad Dodik, without revealing the ambassadors name.
“This prosecutor told me that is what he was asked to do and to which he replied there is no basis (for such an arrest),” Dodik told Alternativna TV.
The RS President said there was an order for him, RS Prime Minister Zeljka Cvijanovic and other RS top officials to be monitored by authorities.
“A year ago, Bosnia’s Court and Prosecutors Office said that my telephone was wiretapped throughout a period of six months. There is always pressure being applied,” Dodik said.
He also responded to allegations that he ordered the wiretapping of Aleksandra Pandurevic, a lawmaker from the Serb Democratic Party (SDS), which is part of the Alliance for Changes – the opposition to Dodik’s Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) in the RS.
Dodik’s Social Democrats are in power in the RS while the opposition Alliance is holding all Serb positions in the state institutions.
Dodik stressed that RS representatives in Bosnia’s state-level institutions should represent the RS.
“Unfortunately, in the Intelligence – Security Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, there are Serbs who work against Republika Srpska. Those who made up the story regarding (Bosnian Serb) paramilitary formations, which caused serious damage to the RS,” he said.
“We see no benefit from any joint institutions whatsoever, as we see no benefit from Bosnia and Herzegovina,” he said.
