Bosnia gets USD 1.3 mn from ex-Yu New York residence sale

Bosnia and Herzegovina received some USD 1.3 million from the sale of the former Yugoslavia's residential apartment in New York, in line with the Agreement on Succession, said the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Secretary of the Bosnia's Foreign Ministry and authorized representative for implementation of the Annex B of the Agreement on Succession Adnan Hadzikapetanovic confirmed that the former Yugoslav successor states have split the amount of USD 12.1 million from the sale of the apartment in 730 Park Avenue which has been empty since 1992.

This was the first sale of the property that the successor states conducted together. After the New York residence, former Yugoslav republics will finalize the already commenced sale of the properties in New York, Bonn, Bern and Tokyo.

Foreign ministries of Serbia and Croatia earlier stated that they received about USD 3.5 million i.e. some USD 2.1 million from the New York residence sale.
