The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) entity got its Law on Infertility Treatment and In Vitro Fertilization, Wednesday.
Considering that the Law was previously adopted in the FBiH House of Peoples, it now only has to be published in the FBiH Official Gazette.
Almost all caucuses in the House of Representatives said they would support the Law before the vote. The Social Democratic Party (SDP) stressed they would support the Law only because of the many couples suffering from infertility who have been waiting for this Law for a long time.
The SDP said the Law was lacking because it does not provide for the heterologous artificial insemination, a procedure where insemination is based on obtaining sperm or egg cells from other donors, not just the original couple.
