The leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) in Serbia, Cedomir Jovanovic, expressed condolences over the death of the head of the ‘Mothers of Srebrenica’, an association of family members of victims of the 1995 genocide in Srebrenica.

“Hatidza went to join her most loved ones. She leaves behind a silent majority, barking beasts and us… to speak instead of the majority, to send the beasts back to hell, to celebrate Hatidza and with that, to protect every mother, daughter, sister and wife from evil… We will never give up!” the politician wrote on Facebook.

Jovanovic was one of the rare Serbian political actors to attend the 23rd Srebrenica commemoration and burial ceremony for the newly found victims of the genocide on July 11.

He often claimed that unless Serbs admit the atrocities committed in their name during the war, they won't be able to move forward.
