Voters from abroad register for October election

Nearly 90,000 voters from abroad registered to vote in the general election in Bosnia and Herzegovina this October, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Central Election Commission (CIK) Spokesperson Maksida Piric confirmed on Wednesday.

The deadline for registration of voters expired on July 24 and, according to the CIK, some 88,000 voters submitted their application to vote.

Bosnian citizens will cast their vote on October 7 and will elect members of the state tripartite presidency, entity presidents as well as the members of the cantonal, entity and state parliaments.

Among the registered voters from abroad are those currently residing in Croatia (7,945), Germany (4,853), Sweden (3,075) and other countries.

The Central Election Commission called the general election in early May. It was said that the election process would cost some BAM 8 million (approx EUR 4 million).
