Croatia’s President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic will not visit Serbia due to President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic’s statement that “Hitler wanted a world without Jews, Croatia’s politics wanted Croatia with no Serbs,” Croatian media reported on Tuesday.

“After the latest Vucic’s words, it is impossible to even think about improving the relationship between our countries. The relations with Serbia will frost for an indefinite time, and this means President of Croatia won’t pay a visit to Serbia,” the newspaper cited official sources.

In what appears to be a further worsening of the Belgrade – Zagreb relations, the sources have added there will be no new meetings between government officials from the two countries for some time.

The bitter exchange between Zagreb and Belgrade happens every August when Croatia celebrates its victory over rebel Serbs in the war of the 1990s, while Serbia mourns the killed and missing local Serbs who fled in fear of Croatia's armed forces.
