Opposition leaders in Bosnia's Serb-dominated entity, the Republika Srpska (RS), dismissed the allegations of the entity president who accused his opponents of plotting to steal trucks with the ballots for the October general election in order for the voting process to be proclaimed invalid.
RS President Milorad Dodik, who is the leader of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), the ruling party in this semi-autonomous part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said the opposition plans to kidnap 50 trucks that are supposed to arrive in Banja Luka ahead of the election.
The leader of the opposition Serb Democratic Party (SDS) Vukota Govedarica said Dodik was in fear of being defeated in the election.
“His politics has reached a natural end and he is concerned about himself,” added Govedarica.
The constructions made up by Dodik cannot be seen even in Spielberg movies, he stressed.
The Party of Democratic Progress (PDP), another opposition party, called on citizens not to pay attention to SNSD's accusations and not to fear from voting in the upcoming election.
“Milorad Dodik is aware that Banja Luka decided to say ‘enough!’ to SNSD and that's why yesterday he said the biggest lie ever about the opposition planning to kidnap the trucks with ballots and lead to the annulment of the election in our city,” PDP Banja Luka board said.
The opposition also said they would not organise any rallies during the time of the election silence.
