The Red Cross organisation of the city of Bihac, Northern Bosnia, and the Majlis of the Islamic Community in Bihac organised a prayer amid Eid Al-Adha in the student dormitory where migrants are accommodated, which was attended by some 450 migrants, delighted that someone prepared such a ceremony for them.
After the prayer, the Red Cross donated presents for the migrant children, provided by the Bihac residents, and prepared an Eid lunch for the migrants in Bihac.
“We are happy that the migrants are happy, that they were able to attend the Eid prayer here in the student dormitory. We are glad that the cantonal Prime Minister visited the migrants and congratulated them Eid Al-Adha,” Selma Midzic, the Red Cross Secretary said. “During the day, we will prepare a number of other activities and hand out fruit that we received as a donation.”
Knowing the meaning of Eid gifts, the Una-Sana Canton Government and Prime Minister Husein Rosic joined the celebration organisation at the hotel Sedra where Eid celebration ceremony will also be held.
“I’d like to use this opportunity to thank the Red Cross volunteers who’ve been with these people every day, even during Eid, when they could have been with their families, but instead, they are helping these people,” Rosic said. “After our visit to the student dormitory, we will visit the Sedra hotel where we will also organise an Eid celebration ceremony.”
