The election campaign for the 2018 general elections in Bosnia, began Friday, and it will last until October 6, when election-silence comes into force. The general election in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be held on October 7.
During the election campaign, political entities will familiarise voters and the public with their programs and candidates.
The central electoral roll contains some 3.3 million voters of which some 3.2 million were registered. They will have the opportunity to vote for 518 mandate holders, the Central Election Commission (CEC BiH) said.
The voters will vote for three Presidency members, members of Bosnia’s House of Representatives, House of representatives both from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republika Srpska entities, the president and two vice-presidents of the RS and MP’s of all the 10 cantonal assemblies in the FBiH.
The CEC BiH said that 128 political entities, 53 parties, 36 coalitions and 34 independent candidates have registered for the election.
This year’s election will cost BAM 8.5 million (around EUR 4 million), of which BAM 4,7 million (around EUR 2.2 million) will be spent on fees of electoral board members, BAM 1.2 million (around EUR 600,000) on the printing, packaging and the distribution of voting material, and around BAM 650,000 (around EUR 320,000) for mailing services for voters voting via postal services.
