Russian ambassador to Belgrade Alexandar Chepurin wrote on his Twitter account that Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic would be in Moscow in early October to meet Russia’s head of state Vladimir Putin, N1 reported on Friday.

“During a short meeting with A.Vucic, we talked about the modalities of the forthcoming visit by Serbia’s President to Moscow. The visit will happen at the beginning of October. The discussions about key bilateral and regional issues are expected in a meeting with President V. Putin. The mood is positive,” Chepurin wrote in Serbian.

Vucic thanked Chepurin for his role in creating the best possible relations between Serbia and Russia.

Putin and Vucic met in May in Moscow.

In the meantime, several reports announced Putin’s visit to Belgrade, saying he would be in Serbia’s capital during the November 11 Remembrance Day Parade.

Days after that report, French President Emmanuel Macron invited Vucic to Paris on the same occasion.

Vucic has just come back from the three-day visit to China, and one of his aides said on Thursday he would not go to New York for the UN General Assembly session.

Instead, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic will head the Belgrade delegation, media reported on Friday.
