The Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho has withdrawn its recognition of Kosovo’s independence and all statements related to it, Serbia's Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said, according to the Belgrade media report on Tuesday.
In the diplomatic note, Lesotho's’ Foreign Ministry said that the “unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo from February 2008 contradicts the Helsinki Final Act and is in even greater contradiction with the United Nation’s Resolution 1244 adopted in line with the UN Chapter seven.”
“The Ministry has the honour to say that the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho believes that its contribution should be a support to the Belgrade – Pristina dialogue and not the definition of the future status of Kosovo before the dialogue ends,” the note said.
It added that Lesotho’s Government also withdrew all previous statements, particularly those which could in any way be understood as the recognition of Kosovo’s independence.
