The election winner in Bosnia's Republika Srpska (RS) entity, the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), nominated a candidate for RS prime minister-designate at a session of SNSD Executive Committee held Tuesday.

“We remain the strongest party in Republika Srpska, but also in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Executive Committee has decided to nominate Radovan Viskovic a candidate for RS prime minister-designate,” SNSD spokesperson Radovan Kovacevic said following the session.

The Executive Committee session, the first one after the October 7 general election, was also attended by SNSD leader Milorad Dodik, vice-president Zeljka Cvijanovic, secretary-general Luka Petrovic and rest of the party leadership.

According to Kovacevic, SNSD leadership also adopted the guidelines for negotiations with coalition partners.

Bosnia and Herzegovina held a general election this October when its eligible citizens elected members of the state tripartite Presidency, RS entity president and vice presidents as well as the members of the state, entity and cantonal parliaments.

SNSD's Milorad Dodik was elected the Serb member of Bosnia's Presidency, along with the Bosniak and Croat members, who were elected in Federation (FBiH) entity, as stipulated by the Constitution and the Election Law.
