Prosecutors in Zagreb indicted a former Bosnian Serb army captain for war crimes committed against Croat prisoners of war in the Manjaca camp near Bosnia's northern town of Banja Luka in 1992.

Dane Lukaic, a former member of the Army of Republika Srpska, stands accused of ordering his subordinates to beat and torture five Croat prisoners of war. He also allegedly tortured one of the prisoners himself.

Lukaic was arrested on June 30 in Croatia as he attempted to attend a memorial ceremony for the victims of WWII. Prosecutors requested for the 68-year-old to remain in custody due to the possibility he may escape.
