Bosnian state police arrested on Thursday evening a person at the Sarajevo International Airport on suspicion of terrorism, the police confirmed.
The man whose name was not unveiled is suspected of staying at the war-zones in Syria and Iraq since June 1, 2013, as a member of terrorist groups Al-Nusra Front and so-called Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
The suspect was apprehended to premises of the State Investigation and Protection Agency and will be forwarded to Bosnian Prosecutor's Office for further processing, in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Bosnia amended its legislation in 2014, which stipulates the sanctions for recruitment for and taking part in foreign paramilitary or parapolice forces.
