The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) entity got a new parliamentary majority after Elvir Karajbic from the Social Democratic Party (SDP) was elected as new speaker of the Parliament. The new majority consists of the SDP, Democratic Front (DF), Our Party (NS), and the Civic Alliance (GS).

With Elvir Karajbic’s election, a new parliamentary majority was formed and it does not include the Bosniak and Croat nationalist paties – the Democratic Action Party (SDA) and Croat Democratic Union (HDZ BiH), who left the session immediately afterwards.

Karajabic, who received 52 votes in favour and no votes against his election, stopped the session because there were no proposals for two of his deputies.

The new majority was formed after the October general election in the country when the SDA won 27 seats, and the SDP won 16, as much as the HDZ BH led coalition.

Bosnia and Herzegovina consists of two entities, the Bosniak-Croat shared Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), nd the Serb-dominated Republika Srpska (RS)
