Serbia and Republika Srpska must stick together if they want to survive, Serbia's President Aleksandar Vucic said adding that citizens of Bosnia's Serb-dominated entity should not listen to those who wish to make them quarrel with Serbia.
Speaking for Serbia's public broadcaster RTS, Vucic dismissed allegations of Serbian police being deployed to RS for the protest organised by parents of 21-year-old David Dragicevic, who died under still unresolved circumstances.
Vucic said that was a “notorious lie.”
The allegations of Serbian police presence in the protest in Bosnian north-western city of Banja Luka this Tuesday were raised by mother of the murdered young man, Suzana Radanovic, who urged the President of Serbia to react.
On the same day, Vucic and Serbia's Interior Minister denied the allegations, calling liars those who claim that.
“I came to address the people and citizens of RS via the Radio Television of Serbia because I know with how much affection they're watching Serbia,” Serbian president noted emphasising that his country invested a lot in RS, Bosnia's part dominated by ethnic Serbs.
“RS survived thanks to firm and strong support of Serbia. Don't ask me and I wouldn't even say what would all those who wish to destroy RS do if there was no Serbia's support,” he added.
No police officer took part in Banja Luka or other events in Republika Srpska or Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vucic reiterated.
“If Serbia and (Republika) Srpska want to survive, they must stick together while respecting the integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” he said.
Vucic also dismissed alleged interference with internal affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina “contrary to some earlier presidents or prime ministers who supported certain candidates.”
“I never did that,” he said, referring to allegations he was supporting Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik, formerly RS President and currently the Serb member in Bosnia's tripartite Presidency.
“We have an agreement that Serbia will respect RS and RS (will respect) Serbia, we won't and must not quarrel,” he underlined.
