Two unidentified persons were detained Thursday morning after they entered the runway area of the Sarajevo International Airport bypassing security checks and other controls, learns N1.

The incident happened moments before the departure of the Sarajevo-Vienna flight at 0735 a.m., which caused two-hour delay of the Austrian Airlines flight.

The passengers on the Vienna flight were already on board when the two persons were noticed passing near the runway. The police swiftly reacted and put them under arrest.

The Border Police briefly told N1 that investigation into this event is ongoing and further information will be available later on.
