Albanian capital Tirana will host the leaders of the Western Balkans on Wednesday and Thursday at the Brdo - Brioni Summit, an initiative launched by Croatia and Slovenia in 2013 to speed up the regional advance to the European Union, the Beta news agency reported.

The members of Bosnia’s tripartite Presidency, Milorad Dodik, Sefik Dzaferovic and Zeljko Komsic, as well as the presidents of Montenegro and Serbia, Milo Djukanovic and Aleksandar Vucic, will attend the Summit hosted by Croatian and Slovenian presidents Kolinda Grabar – Kitarovic and Borut Pahor.

The attendance of the outgoing president of Macedonia (who bitterly opposed the country's recent name change into North Macedonia) Gjorge Ivanov has not yet been confirmed.

Summit’s special guests are Federica Mogherini, the EU Diplomacy chief and the mediator of the Belgrade – Pristina dialogue on normalisation of relations and the President of Poland Andrzej Duda whose country will host the next Berlin Process Summit in Poznań in July.

Before going to Tirana, Vucic will visit Rome on Wednesday for a meeting with Matteo Salvini, serving as the Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister.
