Peter Pellegrini, Slovakia's Prime Minister, said on Thursday during his visit to Serbia that the European Union should have reacted more adamant to Pristina’s moves, the FoNet news agency reported.

Pellegrini, whose country is among five EU member states which did not recognise Kosovo’s independence, said the firmer reaction should have followed the introduction of 100 percent import duties on goods from Serbia, the refusal to form the Community of Serb Municipalities in Kosovo and the ROSU special police unit operation in the north on Tuesday.

“We are very worried because Pristina, unlike Belgrade, does not fulfil its obligations,” Pellegrini said after meeting his Serbia’s counterpart Ana Brnabic.

Addressing a joint news conference after the talks with Brnabic, Pellegrini said his country looked at the ROSU unit operation “with displeasure and hope something like that won’t happen again.”

“Slovakia does not intend to recognise Kosovo, but we support the Belgrade – Pristina dialogue on normalisation of relations,” Pellegrini said, adding he understood Serbia’s frustration over the Kosovo issue solution.
