The head of the Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo said on Tuesday that the Kosovo border police is seizing goods, causing shortages of food and other things in the northern municipalities.

Office chief Marko Djuric told the pro-government TV Pink that the Kosovo Albanians have cut all supply lines for basic foodstuffs coming in from central Serbia. He added that the Serbian authorities would find a way to get supplies in.

Pristina’s current actions are based on an agreement which was initialed on February 23, 2012 which allowed the Kosovo border police to deploy at the Jarinje and Brnjak crossings.

“That same border police is now seizing trucks and vans full of goods and there are shortages in Kosovska Mitrovica. We will find ways to get things in to our people in Kosovo. The Serbs should not worry,” Djuric said.
