Serbia’s PM: I won’t go to Potocari, no one invited me

Ana Brnabic, Serbia’s Prime Minister, said on Tuesday she would not go to Potocari on July 11 for the burial of the remains of 33 victims of Srebrenica genocide in 1995, because "I'm not invited," the FoNet news reported.

“This time as well I’ll send my deepest condolences to the families of all victims of the conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and surely in Srebrenica. I'm not invited and won’t go,” Brnabic told reporters at the sidelines of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) Summit in Bosnia.

She recalled an incident in 2015 when the then-Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic was attacked in Potocari while attending the commemoration of “that horrible crime,” and added that no one was held responsible. That, she said, “did not send a good message for the regional cooperation.”

The official Belgrade refuses to refer to the Srebrenica massacre of some 8,000 Bosniaks committed by Bosnian Serbs’ forces as the genocide regardless of the two international courts’ ruling.

Brnabic added she was always available “for everything that could make the region a better place to live in.”
