The United Media originally produced series "Shadow Over Balkan" ("Black Sun" on IMDb) second part received the audience reward at the Sarajevo Film Festival (SFF), N1 reported on Friday.

The second part of the series brings even more hidden part of the history of the Balkans, more action, drama, mysteries from the muddy streets in the then Belgrade’s Jatagan Mala suburb to shiny Vienna corridors.

The series is set in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes during the period between two world wars. The story follows the life and work of two Belgrade police inspectors.

In an interview with N1 on Monday, Bjelogric said that ” the second season starts with the 1933 New Years eve, ahead of the assassination of the King Aleksandar Karadjordjevic. That ‘s a political background of the series.”

“Besides,” he added, “like in the first season we also have a few parallel stories which meet at the end. I'm convinced that those were the years which in many ways determined the 20th century, especially the situation in the Balkan and that all we live through today has roots in that period.”

Nova S TV, which is a part of United Media along with N1 TV, will start broadcasting the new episodes of the Shadows over Balkan in October.

Nova S TV is available on SBB network, Total TV,Beogrid, D3i and EON platform.
