Lejla Huremovic, one of the organisers of the first Bosnian Pride March, denied recent media reports according to which Bosnia's Islamic Community was allegedly instigating the citizens against this event, set to take place on Sunday.
“It is clear what is the general stand of the religious communities, but the Islamic Community explicitly said that any kind of violence is not allowed,” said Huremovic.
Croatian news agency Hina published on Friday an article titled ‘Islamic Community calls for the boycott of the homosexual parade in Sarajevo, Catholic Church for the abstain from violence’ while both communities have a similar stand on this matter, considering it a sin but also not supporting any kind of violence against this population.
Speaking for Patria news agency, Huremovic denied the allegations.
She said that the Islamic Community clearly specified no violence was allowed.
