Bosnian air carrier FlyBosnia established a direct flight between Sarajevo and London, for the first time in 12 years, with a promotional flight to the British capital which took place on Thursday.
FlyBosnia's Airbus A319 took off from Sarajevo on its maiden flight at 7 am Thursday, and returned back to the Bosnian capital at 1.15 pm, after a landing ceremony at London's Luton Airport.
The Sarajevo welcoming ceremony was attended by the British Ambassador to Bosnia Matthey Field who noted that the flight will aid the development of business and tourism between the two countries and strengthen ties between people.
FlyBosnia will start regular flights from next week and the plan is to fly three times a week. The company said its long-term goal is to establish regular daily flights in the following year.
