Several historic figures including Archduke Franz Ferdinand and Sarajevo founder Isa-beg Ishakovic were seen on Saturday walking the cobbled streets of the southern city of Mostar, stopping under the UNESCO-protected Old Bridge for a photo opportunity with locals and tourists.
The Mostar visit is a part of the SarajevoReborn project with young actors costumed as historic figures, who entertained the tourists and locals, a performance seen in many cities of the world.
Five actors from different parts of the country arrived disguised as the figures of the Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian periods: Archduke Franz Ferdinand and Sophie, Duchess of Hohenberg, Sarajevo founder Isa-beg Ishakovic, Ottoman-era administrator Gazi Husrev-beg, Mostar poet Aleksa Santic and Emina, the eponymous heroine of his famous song.
