Bosnia's branch of the regional N1 news television marked five years on air, the period during which it became the most viewed cable television channel and the second of all TV channels in the country, according to official measurements.
“I must say that hardly anyone believed that in the five-year period N1 would become what it is today. Only a year later we became the most viewed cable TV channel and four years later the most viewed channel in general. In the beginning, even the ones who designed this project were suspicious but one small miracle has happened,” said N1 Sarajevo News Director Amir Zukic.
“I joined the team which worked on this programme back in 2013. We carried out a survey which showed that people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the region, prefer news programme but that they don't trust TV channels. That's where we found a place for us. We became a true news factory,” he said.
N1 TV, CNN's exclusive news channel affiliate in the Western Balkans, reports daily from three centres – Sarajevo, Zagreb and Belgrade – on the most important developments in the region and the world, carrying unbiased, objective and accurate information.
“This job is a real challenge, but when you have this great team it's not a problem to work and be at disposal to those people all day. We are a team and it is worth it,” according to Tanja Sekulic, N1 Executive Multimedia Producer.
N1 marked birthday in presence of numerous public figures including diplomats, politicians, media professionals and other colleagues.
Sarajevo Deputy Mayors Milan Trivic and Ivica Saric rewarded N1 with ‘Sarajevo Medallion’ as a recognition for the television's work.
