A miner, Alija Zazan, lost his life on Monday in an accident in the local coal mine in Breza, near the capital.
“The accident occurred between 12:00 and 13:00 at a construction site in the Kamenica pit, at point 270. An hour ago we were told that he passed away. An investigation is ongoing, inspectors are at the scene,” said the director of the mine, Camil Zaimovic.

Zazan, 44, was pulled away by a conveyor belt. His colleagues jumped to his rescue immediately and pulled him out of the pit.
Zazan was married and had two children. His two brothers work in the same mine, and so did his father until he retired.
