Iraqi Parliament voted in favour of the decision to expel US forces from the country.
The country's lawmakers voted in favour of a resolution that calls for ending foreign military presence in this country.
Its aim is to make the U.S. pull some 5,000 troops from Iraq.
The Parliament's announcement added that the Iraqi Government is thus obliged to implement the said decision.
Shia lawmakers yelled slogans such as “Stop the US” and “Occupiers out,” after the vote.
The vote comes just two days after the US assassinated an Iranian general Qassem Soleimani, who was on his way to Baghdad airport.
