All three postal operators in Bosnia and Herzegovina have completely suspended all standard shipping to China, with the exception of DHL express delivery, and there will also be no delivery from the area of Wuhan to Bosnia and Herzegovina, with delays expected for other Chinese provinces.
All standard parcel delivery to the People's Republic of China has been suspended until further notice by postal operators in Bosnia and Herzegovina, namely the Croatian Post in Mostar, the Bosnia and Herzegovina Post and the Post of Serbia, the Croatian Post in Mostar reported on Thursday.
“This is due to the temporary suspension of flights to China by most foreign airlines with the aim of preventing the spread of the coronavirus,” the Croatian Post in Mostar said in a statement.
It added that DHL express shipping had been suspended only for the area of Wuhan and was still available in other Chinese provinces, although with some delay in transport and delivery. This was due to recommendations by healthcare institutions and DHL, as well as international postal operators.
The Croatian Post in Mostar reported that it had been in contact with the Public Health Institute of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which said that no cases of disease transmission via parcels had been recorded so far. The China Post has informed other postal operators that all postal parcels originating from or in transit through the centre in Wuhan have been disinfected, in line with the order by the Chinese government.
