Whatever Bosnia’s Presidency Chairman Zeljko Komsic says at an informal dinner in Brussels on Sunday evening is not the official stance of Bosnia and Herzegovina as he cannot speak on behalf of the country, said a letter Bosnian Serb member of the tripartite Presidency, Milorad Dodik, sent to European Council President Charles Michel.

Representatives of Western Balkan countries, including Komsic, will meet with Michel and European Commission President, Ursula von der Leyen, at the dinner ahead of the EU-Western Balkans Summit in Zagreb which is to take place in May.

Dodik pointed out in his letter that Bosnia’s Presidency is the top authority regarding foreign affairs and the three members of the body are equal, with the Chairman having no privileges over the other two members.

“The stances which the member of the Presidency, Zeljko Komsic, currently the Chairman, could eventually express at the Brussels meeting this evening are not the stances of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and neither does he have the competency to speak on behalf of Bosnia,” the Bosnian Serb leader wrote.
