Bosnia's national basketball won their first qualifying match for Eurobasket against the national selection of Latvia. The final score of the match in Riga was 61:62 (21:17; 15:13; 17:16; 8:16) in favour of Bosnia.

Team Bosnia opened the match well, ending the first quarter with a 21:17 lead. In the second quarter, Latvia managed to gain the advantage and finish the first half-time with a six-point lead, 36:30.

The third quarter was a bit fatal for Bosnia. Ending with a 12-point lead for Latvia, which was the highest lead in the match.

However, the Bosnia team concentrated on the defence and cut Latvia's lead. In the fourth quarter, team Bosnia equalized at 53:53 with eight minutes remaining and gained a new lead four minutes before the end with a 55:53 result.

In the last quarter, Bosnia made a series of 12:0, followed by a 5:0 series by the hosts, bringing the score to 58:60.

Latvia scored three points, bringing the score to 61:60, while the team Bosnia failed to reach a successful finish.

In the end, Bosnia scored two points and Latvia missed two shots, bringing the final score to 62:61 in Bosnia's favour.
