Serbia reports first death caused by coronavirus, 135 infected

By 6 pm on Friday, 17 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection were registered in Serbia, bringing a total number to 135 coronavirus patients, and Prime Minister Ana Brnabic confirmed that the first death case was reported in the northern province of Vojvodina, N1 reported.

“A few hours ago, in the Vojvodina Clinical Centre, a man, 59, from the town of Kikinda, died. He had many other health problems,” she said, adding that eight more people were in critical condition.

 The Health Ministry said that between 8 am and 6 pm, 40 people were tests and 23 proved negative. Nine out of 17 are hospitalised, but with no complications and in stable condition. The remaining eight were sent into self-isolation with lighter symptoms.
