Advija Kalnic passed away on March 24 and her body has since been in a morgue as authorities can not agree on whether to conduct an autopsy.

Her children have been urging authorities to release her body and to determine whether her death could have been a result of a failure by the health care system.

“We are waiting and waiting. For 37 days already I am waiting to bury my mother and to pray the Fatiha (Muslim prayer) for her. Can you imagine what this is like and what the current state of the family is like?” Nezir Kanlic said.

“We currently have no information about this and we don’t know if there will be an autopsy, where it would take place and what condition the body of my mother is in,” he said.

Kanlic appealed to institutions at all government levels to solve the problem.
