Sarajevo Town Hall was lit with colours of the EU flag, Saturday night, on the occasion of May 9, the Europe Day.

The city administration recalled that concerts at the Town Hall on the Europe Day and the Day of Victory over Fascism have become a Sarajevo tradition. Thus in 2015, during the first anniversary of the opening of the reconstructed Town Hall, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra performed their famous concert there.

“Tonight, from the same place, our Amira Medunjanin gave us an unforgettable evening and confirmed that music is a powerful tool in connecting people, erasing borders and spreading love and peace, and our architectural gem shone in the colours of the European Union flag. The City of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the EU Delegation to BiH, have sent yet another strong message of unity and solidarity,” the city administration said in a statement on Saturday evening.
