US military and NATO representatives in Bosnia delivered on Tuesday essential medical supplies and equipment to Bosnia’s Federation (FBiH) region for the battle against Covid-19 after a similar donation arrived in Bosnia’s other semi-autonomous region, Republika Srpska (RS), last Friday.
The donation, which was handed over to the FBiH Ministry of Health, consists of thermometers, hundreds of protective face visors, five thousand masks, hundreds of protective glasses and suits, blankets, pillows, bedding and hundreds of litres of disinfectant.
NATO HQ Deputy Commander in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Morten Henriksen, said that a number of allied countries responded with significant support to Bosnia after the country made a formal request for assistance to the Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Center.
FBiH Assistant Health Minister Goran Cerkez thanked NATO for the donation, stressing the importance of cooperation between the Alliance and the FBiH Health Ministry.
