A team of speleologists from Mostar and Karlovac have explored this weekend a horizontal cave which experts know little about, although it is one of the largest speleological objects in the region.
The Great Dzelalija (Velika Dzelalija) is a giant pit with an impressive point of entry – it is so large that it can be seen on Google Earth. With its 70 meters depth, the Great Dzelalija is among the deepest pits on Raska Gora.
After having recently located it, speleologists have started exploring the nearby Little Dzelalija (Mala Dzelalija) and discovered this weekend that just the vertical entry is 400 meters deep and its bottom is not the end of the object.
The team discovered another horizontal and another vertical corridor that is yet to be explored.
The discovery of Little Dzelalija is the result of years-long search after speleological objects in the area of Raska Gora.
