Bosnia's FBiH region Red Cross forms team to help Novi Pazar tackle coronavirus

The Red Cross of Bosnia’s Federation (FBiH) region said on Wednesday that it has formed a team of two doctors and six nurses which is prepared to travel to the Serbian city of Novi Pazar to help it tackle the coronavirus pandemic.

According to media reports, Novi Pazar and the wider Sandzak region, which is mostly populated by Bosniaks, has seen a sudden increase in new coronavirus cases and fatalities recently.

“In order to show solidarity and help the population which is seriously endangered by the coronavirus, the Red Cross of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has initiated fundraising through a dedicated account and a humanitarian contact number,” the FBiH Red Cross said in a statement.

The organisation also added that the number of medical staff in the team could increase in the next few days.
