Over the past 24 hours one person infected with the novel coronavirus has died and 54 new cases have been recorded, bringing the number of active cases to 568, the national Covid-19 response team said on Wednesday.

Eighty persons are hospitalised, including two on respirators, and 1,352 persons have been tested over the past 24 hours, a press release said.

Since February 25, when the first case was recorded in Croatia, there have been 2,831 cases of infection, the team said.

To date 80,456 people have been tested, 108 have died and 2,155 have recovered.
