Bosnia reports 228 new Covid-19 patients, more than 5,000 recovered

Bosnia and Herzegovina reported 228 new coronavirus infections in its two regions, 162 in the Federation (FBiH) and 66 in Republika Srpska (RS), the healthcare authorities of the two semi-autonomous entities said on Tuesday.

With three more Covid-19 fatalities reported over the last 24 hours, the country's death toll has increased to 297.

The FBiH healthcare authorities have so far performed 83,705 lab tests, 989 since the last update. With the newly confirmed infection cases, the region has to date reported 6,105 Covid-19 patients.

The total of 2,997 patients have recovered to date and 131 died.

As for RS, its healthcare authorities have performed 381 lab tests in the last 24 hours, 48,589 since the epidemic outbreak.

The region has so far reported 4,488 Covid-19 patients, of which 2,180 have recovered and 157 died.

Brcko District, a separate administrative unit in the north, has confirmed one more infection on Tuesday, bringing its coronavirus total to 153. To this day, 34 patients have recovered and nine died.

According to official statistics, the country's coronavirus tally stands at 10,746 and 5,211 patients have recovered to date.
