Slovenia on Sunday reported 168 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, 59 fewer than the day before, with the government expressing concern about a high percentage of positive test results.
For the first time more than a hundred (101) patients are being treated for COVID-19 in hospitals, of whom 15 are intensive care.
Since no coronavirus-related deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, the death toll remains at 155, and the number of active cases has surpassed 2,000, the Slovenian Health Ministry confirmed on Sunday.
The government and epidemiologists are concerned about the rise in the number of hospitalised cases and the increase in the percentage of positive tests for coronavirus.
On Friday, 227 new cases were confirmed after 2,893 tests carried out, while in the last 24 hours 1,940 tests were carried out and 168 returned positive. The share of positive cases has thus increased from 8.24% to 8.66 percent.
