Slovenia reports over 300 new cases for two days in row

Despite new measures being introduced to curb the spread of coronavirus, Slovenia's authorities reported on Friday that there had been 362 new cases of the infection in the last 24 hours.

On Thursday, Slovenia reported a record high single-day number of 387 COVID-19 infections.

Currently, the number of people gathering in private or public spaces is capped at 10. Shops, post offices, public administration offices are requested to make sure that no more than one person is present per 20 square metre.

Events at which food and beverages are served are banned.

The country's top authorities are supposed to convene on Friday afternoon to discuss the developments.
