Bosnia and Herzegovina is experiencing a surge in new coronavirus cases as a total of 476 people tested positive for the virus and 11 died due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, healthcare authorities in Bosnia said on Wednesday.
In the Federation (FBiH) entity, the results for 335 of the 1,839 samples tested came back positive and eight people passed away due to COVID-19.
The other semi-autonomous entity, Republika Srpska (RS), tested 642 people and 141 of them were positive for the virus. Three people died due to the disease in the RS since Tuesday.
More than 31,000 people have been infected with the coronavirus in Bosnia since the beginning of the epidemic and about 24,000 have so far recovered. The death toll is 958.
