Over 1,900 new coronavirus cases in Bosnia, breaking daily record by far

The number of newly reported coronavirus infections in the past 24 hours in Bosnia and Herzegovina is 1,903, marking another drastic increase compared to the previous daily record set the day before.

Bosnia’s entity of Republika Srpska (RS) reported 649 new infections among the 1,371 people tested since Wednesday.

Nine more people passed away due to COVID-19 in the RS. The Federation (FBiH), Bosnia’s other semi-autonomous region, reported 1,219 positive samples among the 2,896 tested and 12 COVD-19 fatalities.

A total of 46,639 people have so far tested positive for the coronavirus in Bosnia since the beginning of the epidemic and 27,580 of them have recovered so far.

The COVID-19 death toll is 1,182.

There are currently 17,877 active coronavirus cases in the country.
