In the past 24 hours Slovenia has conducted 6,368 tests for coronavirus with 1,798 cases proving positive, while a record number of 23 Covid-related deaths have occurred, the government tweeted on Friday.

According to the latest official data, since its outbreak in Slovenia a total of 32,503 have been infected and there are currently 20,980 active cases, the health ministry informed.

The numbers of patients in hospital treatment are still concerning including those with grave symptoms and currently there are 703 patients in hospitals, 122 of whom are in intensive care.

All epidemiological curves are continuing to show an increase in the number of active cases as well as the hospitalisation numbers. In the past 14 days Slovenia has recorded more than 1000 cases per 100,000 population.

The death toll has climbed to 315.
