As of Friday, most of the tightened epidemiological measures adopted on Thursday are in place in Slovenia, and over the past 24 hours, 1,508 new cases of the coronavirus infection have been confirmed.
The media in Slovenia reported this morning that 5,762 coronavirus tests had been performed, with a slightly lower percentage of positive tests, 26.17%, but the country also registered the highest number of deaths in a day, 41.
Health Minister Tomaz Gantar said yesterday that the lockdown the government had introduced three weeks ago had not yielded the desired results as the number of new infections, patients in hospitals and deaths continued to increase, but the exponential growth of new infections had decreased.
As of today, all gatherings outside the family circle are prohibited, and as of Monday all public transport with the exception of the taxi service will be stopped.
The measures on the border are also stricter, so those who have real estate, land or vessels in Croatia will no longer be able to visit Croatia for 48 hours without getting tested upon return, and it is also forbidden to visit family members in countries outside the European Union, which primarily affects workers from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Still in force are measures adopted on October 25, under which schools conduct classes online, it is prohibited to leave house late at night, and wearing masks indoors and outdoors is mandatory.
All public gatherings, celebrations, masses and shows are banned, including weddings, especially if they are not approved by the state at the request of the bride and groom.
As of Monday, all shopping centres will be closed, and only stores selling food and the basic necessities will be open.
The new tighter measures will be in place for 14 days.
