Bosnia: Nearly 1,300 new coronavirus infections, 49 deaths in last 24 hours

Bosnian health officials reported nearly 1,300 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, along with record 49 virus-related fatalities.

Slightly over 4,700 samples have been tested since Friday and the infection was confirmed in 863 people in the Bosniak-Croat Federation (FBiH) entity and in 387 people in the Serb-dominated Republika Srpska (RS) entity.

Of the total number of deaths, 26 were reported in the RS, 22 in the FBiH and one in Brcko District.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic in the country in early March, 1,858 people infected with the novel virus have died and the infection has been confirmed in more than 71,000 people.
