Bosnia and Herzegovina will not introduce additional coronavirus restrictions, Council of Ministers President Zoran Tegeltija said on Friday after he met with the prime ministers and the health ministers of the country's two semi-autonomous entities.

Tegeltija told reporters in Doboj that they concluded that the measures in place currently are sufficient.

“There will be no additional measures in Bosnia and Herzegovina which would restrict movement and the work of businesses. Our estimate is that the measures are sufficient and are keeping the COVID-19 situation under control,” he said.

Tegeltija thanked healthcare workers for their efforts in combatting the pandemic throughout the past nine months and noted that the healthcare sector is facing a lot of pressure due to the large number of persons infected.

He said, however, that the situation has stabilised throughout the past two weeks and thanked the citizens for respecting the measures introduced.

Authorities in both of Bosnia's semi-autonomous entities made masks mandatory outdoors and limited public gatherings and working hours for non-essential businesses, while in the Federation (FBiH) entity a curfew that lasts between 11 pm and 5 am is in place.
