Inspectors from the Foreign Affairs Agency and Sarajevo Canton police are conducting an increased control of the movement of migrants in the area of Sarajevo, during which the searched 12 facilities housing 64 migrants, Anadolu Agency reported.

The authorities said they were unable to determine the status of 24 migrants who were then placed in the Blazuj migrant centre near Sarajevo, where a further investigation will be conducted.

Inspectors also determined that five migrants were illegally staying in Bosnia, who were then ordered measures of expulsion with a ban on entry and residence for a period of one to five years. They were placed under observation in the immigration centre where they will be allowed only limited movement around the Centre, before their expulsion.

During the search, inspectors also found certain irregularities in five facilities, like non-reporting of foreign nationals and improper record-keeping, due to which five misdemeanour orders were issued to owners of facilities that provided accommodation services to foreign nationals.
