The Croat member of Bosnia’s tripartite Presidency said on Tuesday that the Serbian President told him that it is not true BiH citizens from the country’s Serb-majority Republika Srpska (RS) entity will not be required to present a negative PCR test to travel to Serbia and that his country will treat every Bosnian citizen equally at the border.
Serbia had adopted a decision to introduce a requirement for all foreigners entering the country to present a negative PCR test which was conducted within the previous 48 hours, as of December 20.
Advisor to the head of Bosnia’s Border Police, Svevlad Hoffmann, told N1 on Monday that all BiH citizens who are registered as living in the country’s semi-autonomous RS entity are allowed to enter Serbia without presenting the test but are required to go into isolation for 10 days, while all other BiH citizens must still present the negative test at the border.
The office of Presidency member Zeljko Komsic said that he spoke with Serbia’s Aleksandar Vucic on Tuesday about “the treatment that applies to the entry of BiH citizens into Serbia.”
“President Vucic said that the information that different treatment of citizens was introduced is not true. The same treatment applies to all BiH citizens,” the statement said, adding that Vucic also said Serbia should abolish the measure anyway.
