The average net monthly salary in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) entity for October, 2024, amounted to 1,415 Bosnian marks (€723), marking a nominal increase of 3.4% and a real increase of 3.1% compared to the previous month, according to the FBiH Statistics Agency.
Year-on-year, the average net salary for October 2024 was 10.1% higher in nominal terms and 8.7% higher in real terms compared to October 2023.
Significant salary increases were recorded in several sectors between September and October 2024. The Health and Welfare sector saw an 11.6% rise, Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishing increased by 7.4%, and the Electricity, Gas, Steam, and Air Conditioning sectors experienced a 7.1% growth.
Conversely, the most notable decreases in average net salaries occurred in Financial Services and Insurance, which dropped by 1.9%, and the Arts, Entertainment, and Recreation sector, which saw a 0.4% decline.
The average gross monthly salary in October 2024 reached 2,210 marks (€1,129), reflecting a nominal increase of 3.5% and a real increase of 3.2% compared to the previous month. Yearly, the gross salary was 10.8% higher in nominal terms and 9.4% higher in real terms compared to October 2023.
The total number of employed persons in FBiH in October 2024 was 551,839, representing a 0.1% increase from the previous month. The number of employed women rose by 0.3% during the same period.
